The Atlas Chronicle – March 2022
HEAD OF SCHOOL
Greetings Atlas Community! With enrollments increasing daily and the building taking shape, in just a few months we will all come together to celebrate the first day of school at Atlas! We appreciate all the trust and support as we embark upon this journey together. I am excited to have chosen Atlas as the school for my children and Estepona as our new home. I look forward to the move south with my wife and two young boys in the near future as the hunt for housing is well under way. We will see you all soon!

MARCH 8 TH
On March 8th we presented our school at the Kempinski Hotel in Estepona. Mayor José María García Urbano and other local education authorities attended the event along with the director of Mathema Educación, Antonio Arcones, and our oon-to-be headmaster, Trevor Sargent.
“An essential feature of education as we know it is finding the right balance between developing personal skills and the academic curriculum, and this balance should not be underestimated,” says Antonio Arcones of Mathema Educación.
GUESSING THE ATLAS MASCOT
CAN YOU GUESS WHAT IT IS?
Our future students are trying to guess what our school mascot is going to be! Send us your drawing to participate.
Clue: there are almost 500 species of them.
MEET OUR STAFF
Gaëlle Coste is our future French Department Coordinator. She comes from Liège, Belgium, and has been teaching French abroad for the past seventeen years. She has lived in The Netherlands, Scotland, The Maldives and Spain. She will be moving to Estepona from Ibiza where she has been working for the past three years. In her spare time, Madame Coste enjoys doing horseback
riding, playing tennis and going for long walks in the nature. She is very excited to be joining the Atlas team!
“Hello! My name is Gabriella Ubilla, and I’m very excited to join the new ATLAS team. I’m originally from Sterling, Virginia, but I have lived in Spain for 6 years.
I love to read, run, and play trivia. One of my favorite books is Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ichiguro. I also love all things nerdy (ask me about Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Marvel!). I’m looking forward to meeting you in the fall!”
